Weather in Kalkan Turkey

The weather in Kalkan changes with the seasons and is best described as a Mediterranean climate.
As spring arrives Kalkan bursts into life, in every way. The spring flowers in the fields around Kalkan are a sight to be seen. The sun shines and temperatures are warm at around the 20 degree centigrade mark although the sea temperature is bracing, to say the least.

May and June, are hot, but without the peak temperatures of mid summer. July and August are the hottest months with temperatures in the high 30s and often well into the 40s centigrade. With very little in the way of a breeze, humidity levels can be quite high.

Rain is very rare during the peak summer months but when it does rain it doesn’t last long and can be quite a welcome cool down.

September and October see temperatures dropping slightly, the days are still hot but come October autumn is in the air. The evenings in October can be cool especially if sitting on a roof terrace.

Winter is usually very wet which accounts for our plentiful supply of water. The temperatures are cold but very rarely drop below 4 degrees centigrade and if it is not raining the sun will probably be shinning and the sky blue. Take a drive up into the mountains behind, however, and every winter there is the opportunity to build a Turkish snowman.
