Kalkan Beaches & Beach Clubs

Beaches

There are several beautiful beaches not to be missed in the area surrounding Kalkan;

Kalkan Town Beach

Located to the east of Kalkan’s harbour. Awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness, this pebbly beach offers crystal clear waters and very pleasant surroundings. There are numerous cafés nearby where you can sit and watch the world go by.  Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent on the beach.

Kaputas beach

This lovely beach is nestled at the foot of a striking mountain gorge and can be reached in about 10 minutes via a dolmuş (shared taxi/minibus) ride, from the Kalkan bus station. Kaputas beach is often used in travel brochures for Turkey due to its outstanding beauty. The turquoise waters are ideal for swimming, but please note that it gets deep rather quickly.  There are just under 200 steps which lead you down to the beach. Umbrellas can be hired and there is a cafe and toilet facilities.

Patara beach

Patara beach is simply not to be missed. Its 18km stretch of sand and dunes forms part of a national park, and is a breeding ground for the giant loggerhead turtle. Because of this vital conservation project, and the fact that Patara is a National Park, you will be charged a small entrance fee per person; however, you will not be disappointed, Patara has been voted as one of the top beaches in the World. There is a small café serving food, drinks and ice cream, there are also toilet and shower facilities. Umbrellas and sun lounges can be hired for a fee.

Please take care when swimming as there are strong undercurrents at Patara.  Children should be closely supervised at all times.

This beach club is reached by water taxi down at the harbour, this is a free shuttle service.

Zest Beach Club

Zest is a new addition to the beach club scene in Kalkan and has a laid back, barefoot vibe. Similarly to Palm, it sits on the far side of the bay and is either just a hop on a water taxi from Kalkan harbour or a short stroll on foot along a coastal path.
Extensive spacious terraces tier up from the sea front and are furnished with comfortable day beds ensuring there is always a quiet spot to relax and unwind. The sea is only within stumbling distance making it easy to dip in and out. If sea swimming isn’t your thing there is also a salt water swimming pool with far reaching views across the bay and towards mouse and snake islands.

A waiter- service to pool and day beds is available and there is also a restaurant providing light bites and main meals. There is a bar and lounge area perched on the lowest deck boasting an extensive cocktail list, Zest is definitely a cool spot to sit and watch the sunset serenaded by chilled house tunes.
