January is coming to an end and all looks promising for the year ahead. Fingers crossed for no upsets between now and the start of the coming summer season. If all goes well 2013 might prove to be even better than last season which was a good one for business in Kalkan.
As always at this time of the year, Korsan Apartments, Korsan Villa Rentals, Korsan Suites and The Patara Stone House rental inquiries are flooding in, with a couple of real estate ones too which is good news.
The tour operators contracted with Korsan, Simpson Travel, Exclusive Escapes and Simply Turkey, seem very positive and have more bookings than at this time last year so it seems we will have a very busy summer. It will be up to us to make the most of the season ahead and make sure our guests have a wonderful time and want to return again … and again!
We are working on a few development projects this winter and, of course, they all need to be completed by May for the beginning of the season …. ‘ no pressure!!’….as always!
The project I would like to mention today is Beyaz Ev. The owners will be coming to stay in their property for the first time at the end of May and we have already taken bookings for later in the summer. I know it looks like a difficult task at the moment, check out the photos, but we are confident all will be ready on time … we always are … admittedly sometimes by the skin of our teeth!
The Beyaz Ev project is an exciting one as we are completely gutting, rebuilding and extending an old property. It is just next door to our own home and has been purchased by old friends, Serge & Jane. In order to gain maximum sea views for the property we have reversed the floors with most of the bedrooms on the ground floor. The living room, kitchen and large balcony are on the first floor. For optimum outside living we have opened up a roof terrace which will be an extension of the day-to-day living area of the house. I think roof terraces are completely under used and under appreciated in Kalkan houses.
Look out for my next post when I plan to talk about a very difficult, very unusual and undoubtedly one of our most beautiful projects.
Best wishes to all.
Uluc.
